iPhone: Samsung will produce OLED displays for Apple

The future iPhone will be equipped with an OLED screen. Rumor almost confirmed by the "Korea Herald" that announces the control screens by Apple to the South Korean Samsung.

The next iPhone could accommodate an OLED screen and Samsung is already rubbing its hands.Indeed according to the "Korea Herald", the Apple brand and the South Korean manufacturer has signed an agreement. Apple has already ordered 100 million tiles per year, to be delivered from 2017.

Samsung should make OLED screens for the next iPhone

So we should not hear about the next iPhone from the Cupertino before September 2016, rumors reports of an OLED screen for the next Apple smartphone seem to be confirmed when the "Korea Herald" announced that it is the Samsung screens division for producing these slabs.
Indeed, the two technology giants have signed a lucrative agreement with the South Korean manufacturer. It is expected to produce 100 million OLED screens 5.5 inches per year for the future iPhone, for a total of nearly 2.6 billion. Samsung LG joins then, as the main suppliers of screens to Apple.

Samsung will have to invest

Samsung will have to deliver the first screens from the second half 2017 and to cope with this huge order the South Korean company is obliged to increase its production capacity. Thus, it would invest $ 8.7 billion to expand its plant including A3, which is located in Asan in South Chungcheong.
This plant could well double its performance in reaching a production of 30,000 displays per month. If Samsung can celebrate this new partnership, LG also manufactures OLED displays, may instead worry. At this announcement, its stock fell 6.7% in the stock market of Seoul.
